County to Spray for Mosquitoes on July 26th in Sections of Plymouth and Whitemarsh Townships

The Montgomery County Health Department is planning to spray for mosquitoes in sections of Plymouth and Whitemarsh Townships on Thursday, July 26th from 8:15 p.m. and 11:30 p.m. The rain date is July 31st. The spraying will be done where sampling by the OPH and PADEP has shown mosquitoes that carry the West Nile Virus.

The area that will be treated is between Joshua Road and Butler Pike (between Ridge Pike and Flourtown Road), plus the area between Chemical Road and Butler Bike (between Ridge Pike and Germantown Pike).

Residents within the spray area should consider remaining indoors, closing windows and turning off ventilation systems that draw-in outside air for the duration of the spray plus 30 minutes after.

Workers will be using Duet Duel-action Adulticide at a rate of .75 fluid ounces per acre applied with a truck mounted Ultra Low Volume (ULV) sprayer. The spray will be performed by OPH personnel.
