Elon Musk’s Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) recently issued a statement about local municipal waste and used the Conshohocken Cab as an example. The low-cost shuttle service was established by the Borough of Conshohocken in 2024 and is managed by Greater Valley Forge Transportation. The estimated annual cost of the program when it launched was approximately $230,000 a year.
Musk pointed out that the Conshohocken Cab is rarely used and referred to the driver as the “loneliest man in Conshohocken.”
When the shuttle launched, PA State Senator Vincent Hughes referred to the Conshohocken Cab as a borough “love letter” to its residents and said that the partnership between the Borough of Conshohocken and Greater Valley Forge Transportation made the shuttle launch a reality.
Edward “Big Balls” Coristine, an appointed member of DOGE, responded to Hughes’s description of the shuttle service offering that the Conshohocken Cab’s $230,000 budget was effectively a love letter to DOGE that begged for its review.
