On the July 16th agenda (view) for Conshohocken’s borough council is a proposed ordinance that would amend the current ordinance impacting food trucks. The meeting is scheduled for 7:00 p.m. at the borough hall at 400 Fayette Street.
Currently, the ordinance allows food trucks to operate in all four special zoning district. Three of these comprise the riverfront up to East Elm Street, while the fourth was created when SORA West was approved.
The ordinance had general language about “special districts,” but wasn’t specific to the first three districts. Due to the lack of specificity, when the fourth special district, it allowed food trucks to operate along the streets bordering SORA West, which the council does not support.
Other items on the agenda include the consideration of awarding a bid for the construction of a storage facility at the Community Center at the Fellowship House and discussion and approval of the borough welcome sign design located at the Raymond Ludwig Weinmann Sr. Memorial Pocket Park. The pocket park is planned for the area around The Outbound Station.
