From the Boot gets approval to move within Lafayette Hill

During a June 12th meeting of the Whitemarsh Township Board of Supervisors, the supervisors voted 3-0 to grant a conditional use to allow a restaurant at the shopping center at the intersection of Germantown Pike and Joshua Road in Lafayette Hill (Whitemarsh Township).

From the Boot, which has long operated within the township at the Shoppers World Shopping Center, sought to move to The Shops at Lafayette Hill next to the Wawa in a space that was previously Roxy’s Drugstore and a dentist’s office. During the hearing, From the Boot’s attorney expressed that the restaurant is moving after being unable to negotiate an acceptable lease with the owner of Shoppers World.

The supervisors asked questions about the parking situation and a representative of Korman, the owner of the Shops of Lafayette Hill, testified that the shopping center recently retriped the parking lot to create 24 additional parking spaces, upgraded the parking lot to meet ADA requirements, and added a walkway between the back parking lot and the front of the shopping center.

It was also shared that a takeout window would be installed on the side of the building, accessible via steps from the rear parking lot. Those picking up takeout would be encouraged to use the back parking lot (ADA accessibility is available to the window from the front parking lot). Approximately half of the restaurant’s business is takeout, and the number of seats within the restaurant will be comparable to the current seating capacity. Improvements to the facade would also be made (as shown in the renderings).

It was not announced when the move would take place. The space that is currently home to From the Boot has been listed for rent.
