Investigation of Deaths of Elderly Couple in Whitemarsh Township Determines No Crime Had Occurred

Montgomery County District Attorney Kevin R. Steele and Whitemarsh Township Police Chief Christopher P. Ward announced today the closing of the investigation into the December 4th deaths of Ross and Rhoda Woodward of Whitemarsh Township. The investigation determined that there wasn’t evidence that a crime had occurred.

The Montgomery County Coroner’s Office’s report listed the cause of death was Atherosclerotic Cardiovascular Disease for Ross Woodward and as blunt impact injury to the head with a contributing cause of environmental hypothermia for Rhoda Woodward. The manner of death for each was undetermined.
