June 2025 crime and other police data for Plymouth Township

Within the agenda for the July 14th meeting of Plymouth Township’s council is a report from the township’s police department that provides data on major incidents, lesser crimes, arrests, and accidents, and generally shows how the department’s officers are needed around the township.

For example, the retail centers generated 69 calls for retail theft, while police were called to hotels 62 times. On the roads, police made 437 traffic stops and issued 138 citations.

Crimes described in the report as “Part I/Part II Offenses,” ranging from homicide down to public drunkness, resulted in 183 investigations and 119 arrests.

One notable data point is that 17 responses involved an incident involving a gun. That means officers handled situations involving a firearm every other day.

Police are also kept busy responding to issues involving mental health and the unhoused. Overall, there were 49 social services contacts.

You may notice data for “Urban SDK details” and wonder what that is. Urban SDK, according to GovTech Biz, is software that provides “police, public works and road planners better data about where accidents happen and how to fix those problems. The Plymouth Township Police Department used this data for 75 details.
