Latest on Medical Marijuana Dispensary Coming to Plymouth Meeting and Two Recent Changes to the Law

We had some fun with the fact that the medical marijuana dispensary in Plymouth Meeting, Ilera Healthcare, was set to open this past week on April 20th (4/20). Its address is also 420 Plymouth Road.

The opening was delayed to May 4th. On Facebook, Ilera posted:

Ilera is committed to producing a continuous supply of the highest quality products for patients across the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. Therefore, Ilera will be moving the grand opening date of our dispensary located at 420 Plymouth Rd in Plymouth Meeting to Friday, May 4, 2018.

The slight delay in the opening date will allow Ilera and partner dispensaries to meet our patients’ needs without compromising quality, consistency, or availability.

Ilera also recently announced that it has formed a partnership with Tikun Olam, an Israeli company which Ilera describes as “a global pioneer in modern medical cannabis.” Philly.com published an article on the partnership.

Also on the marijuana news front, without most of the approved medical marijuana dispensaries even being open yet, Pennsylvania has decided to allow the dispensaries to sell dry leaf or whole plant to patients with a qualifying medical condition. The state will also now allow medical marijuana to be used as a treatment for opioid addiction. The Pittsburgh Post-Gazette has an article on these changes.
