Whole Foods Market is now offering Mastrocola’s Famous Philly Roast Pork through its prepared food department. Mastrocola is a well known name in the Conshohocken and Plymouth Meeting area. The family owned four Italian delicatessens in Montgomery County. Two spots locals may remember Mastrocola delis are now home to Fat Daddy’s Deli in Plymouth Meeting and Lenny’s Deli in Conshohocken.
Mike Mastrocola shared with MoreThanTheCurve.com that the Mastrocola family’s pork recipe drew inspiration from Tuscan cuisine. He stated that “The pork is a tender, juicy combination of premium lean pork, herbs, and spices, slow cooked
for hours in its own au jus.”
Mastrocola’s Famous Philly Roast Pork was introduced to Whole Foods Market through a 2016 casting call for local products that was held at the Franklin Institute. Since then Mastrocola’s has been completing the rigorous process of qualifying as a product offered by Whole Foods Market.
