Measles case reported in Abington Township, Philly Department of Public Health says

The Philadelphia Department of Public Health announced today that another case of measles was reported at Holy Redeemer Hospital, 1648 Huntingdon Pike, Meadowbrook (Abington Township), on Tuesday, April 8 between 6:05pm and 9:45pm.

The case also spent time at Pennsylvania Hospital on Sunday, April 6. Residents are asked to click this link if you were in either location and are not immune to measles.

“The vast majority of Philadelphians are likely immune to measles and are safe. But if you’re not immune, read this thread for more information,” the department said in a post. “Measles is an extremely contagious airborne virus that can cause cough, fever, rash, and in serious cases, encephalitis and even death. Babies under the age of one have ZERO protection from measles, which is one of the reasons this is so dangerous.”
