Montgomery County District Attorney Kevin R. Steele and Norristown Acting Police Chief James Angelucci announced that an arrest warrant was issued for the third shooter in the May 23 death of Tahaj Harrison in Norristown.
Jabril Morgan-Cook, 18, of Norristown, is wanted for First-Degree Murder and related charges. The DA is offering a $5,000 reward for information leading to Morgan-Cook’s arrest.
Harrison’s murder occurred at 9:43pm on May 23. Norristown Police received a ShotSpotter notification of multiple gunshots fired in the area of 600 block of Corson Street, and they arrived to find Harrison deceased in the rear yard of his residence, a few houses from the shooting. Video surveillance showed just prior to the shooting, three males walking on Corson Street and then firing shots at the victim. The three males then ran from the scene. Six fired cartridge casings and two live rounds of 9mm ammunition were found by detectives. Ballistic testing found that the fired cartridge casings came from three different firearms. The two other shooters—16-year-old Kaleem Roland and 17-year-old Naseem Worrell—were arrested last week.
The homicide investigation by the Montgomery County Detective Bureau and Norristown Police found that Harrison’s murder was a targeted murder related to ongoing violence between two feuding factions: the Grimy Boys/6’s, which the victim belonged to, and the rival group All Black Bandits/300s, which Worrell, Roland and Morgan-Cook belonged to.
Naseem Worrell, 17, of Norristown, is in custody on first-degree murder charges related to the shooting. Norristown resident Kaleem Roland, 16, was arrested June 4 on first-degree murder charges related to the shooting.
A warrant has been issued for Morgan-Cook, a Black male who stand 5’10” tall and weighs 140 pounds. He should be considered armed and dangerous. Anyone who sees him should not approach and should call 911.
Anyone with information about Morgan-Cook’s whereabouts should call Montgomery County Detectives at 610-278-3386 or Norristown Police at 610-270-0977.
