Montco Update on West Valley Green Road Bridge, Plus Public Comment

Representatives of Montgomery County provided an update on the closure of West Valley Green Road Bridge during the September 24th meeting of Whitemarsh’s Board of Supervisors. Below is the video:

If you read the September 5th update from the county, you are up-to-date. The presentation did not provide any new information.

To briefly review, the county hired a firm for just under $1 million to prepare the bridge to reopen to weight and height restricted traffic (less than three tons and below 7′). This work is expected to be completed by the end of the winter (March-ish) in 2020.

During public comment, a resident who lives next to the bridge, Brett Saunders, expressed disappointment in how the township and county have dealt with the bridge. You can view her comments below:

Sorry for the shaky video. This is due to the out-of-date system Whitemarsh uses to share its videos. It doesn’t allow for the videos to be qued to certain points. We took the time to rerecord specific portions of the video. This issue addressed in the transparency pledge MoreThanTheCurve.com is asking local candidates to sign.
