New Owner and Menu at Conshohocken Cafe

About a month ago, Chef John O’Brien, along with his wife Danielle, became the owners of the Conhohocken Cafe. O’Brien is the former Executive Chef at Winnie’s in Manayunk and is also the namesake of Smokin’ John’s Barbaque (which is next door to Winnie’s). Prior to Winnie Clowry buying Le Bus Manayunk in 2003, O’Brien worked for the previous owner starting in the mid 90’s. The O’Brien’s have lived in Conshohocken since 2000.

Over the past month, O’Brien has been training staff and developing the new menu, which he introduced late last week (view menu here). As you will see, the new menu has a heading of “It’s Brunch Everyday” and the menu includes several vegan dishes.

Pictured at the top of this article is the Red Quinoa & Arugula (Vegan) that is made with edamame, carrot, dried currants, tomato, sunflower seeds and red quinoa tossed with baby arugula and lemon poppy vinaigrette.

Additional dishes are pictured below:

Buttermilk pancakes served with whipped butter. There is the option to add fresh blueberries, strawberries, bananas, walnuts, chocolate chips, or granola.

Sautéed bell peppers, tomatoes, scallions and spinach tossed with firm tofu and turmeric spice blend served with roasted potatoes or mixed greens.

Cinnamon battered brioche French toast served with whipped butter. Add fresh blueberries, strawberries, bananas, walnuts, chocolate chips or granola
