Ohio-based Cleveland-Cliffs, the largest flat-rolled steel producer in North America, bought the company that owned the steel plant along Conshohocken Road in Conshohocken (Plymouth Township) in 2020. It recently updated its website with details about the plant. Below are the highlights.

The fact sheet describes the Conshohocken plant as follows:

Conshohocken is a plate production facility located on the Schuylkill River adjacent to Philadelphia. The area is surrounded by highway and railroad systems that allow for excellent shipping access. Conshohocken operates steel plate facilities including a 100-inch Steckel mill and heat-treating equipment. The Conshohocken facility is capable of producing 450,000 tons of plate annually.

There are some interesting numbers provided by the fact sheet, such as:

• The property is 78 acres
• The building on the property is one million square feet
• The plant was founded in 1857 as Alan Wood Steel
