Whitemarsh Township has released a draft plan for the riverfront.  Since Conshy is planning on building a boathouse, I hope both municipalities are coordinating their efforts to improve the waterfront.  A great deal of Whitemarsh’s waterfront has a Conshy address (all the way down to the office complex at Miquon Station).

As of this week Bowe’s Exxon is offering extended evening and weekend service hours.  They are now open from 8:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. Monday through Thursday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. on Friday and until they are open until 5:00 p.m. on Saturday.

As part of Walmart’s commitment to improving the health and wellness of Philadelphia-area youth, the Walmart Foundation awarded a $100,000 grant to Cradles to Crayons (C2C), a West Conshohocken-based nonprofit that provides clothing, shoes, school supplies, toys and more to low-income and homeless children in Philadelphia and the four suburban counties.

Former Phillie Darren Dalton had breakfast at the Conshohocken Cafe on Opening Day (Thursday).  He had the creamed chip beef.

A couple hours after Dalton finished his breakfast, Ryan Howard went shopping at the CVS in Conshy.

Volunteer

The 2nd Conshy Clean-Up will take place on Saturday, April 16th from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.  Meet at the Outbound Station.  Bring gloves.  Bags will be provided.  RSVP not necessary, but you can tell us you are coming on Facebook.

Conshohocken Restaurant Week is returning on June 13-19, 2011.  Last year we had 17 restaurants participate and this year we hope to add a couple more.  There will also be a Preview Party on June 6th at the Philadelphia Marriott West in West Conshohocken that will benefit Cradles to Crayons.  Only a limited number of tickets will be available for the Preview Party!  To make sure you have the opportunity to get tickets, join our mailing list (you can find the Newsletter Sign-Up on the left side of the page) or like our Facebook page.

If you want to see some of the top high school basketball talent from the region, the Albert C. Donofrio Classic, a single-elimination tournament played at The Fellowship House, started this week and runs through April 19th.

Conshohocken Catholic’s annual Ducky Regatta will be held on May 14th at 10:00 a.m.  The event allows you to buy a numbered “ducky” to benefit the school.  The duckies are released in river and the first ducky to the bridge wins.  Stay tuned for details on how to purchase your ducky.

Conshy Kids Consignment, a consignment sale sponsored by the Conshohocken Elementary Parent Teacher Organization (CEPTO), will be held on Saturday,  April 9th.  The sale will be held at the Fellowship House from 8:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. with a half price sale from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m.

With backing from Josh Kopelman of West Conshohocken-based First Round Capital, a web marketing firm Monetate, also based in Conshohocken, raised $5.08 million in equity financing, according to an SEC filing.
