We were upstairs in the Santander Bank building at 612 Fayette Street today for the first time. Hanging in the common area is a painting of Conshohocken High School which educated the borough’s high schoolers from 1913 until its final graduating class in 1966. Conshohocken’s schools were then merged with the schools of the Plymouth Whitemarsh School District to form the Colonial School District.

After the high school closed the high school property served as the home of Montgomery County Community College until its Blue Bell campus opened in 1971.

The building was knocked down two years later in 1973 and according to ConshyStuff.com the property sat vacant for over a decade. In 1986, Montgomery County sold the property to Meridian Properties and in 1996 to the current owner 612 Fayette Associates.
