Phillies’ puppy Tugger has Conshohocken connection

The Philadelphia Phillies recently made an appearance on ABC’s Good Morning America to introduce the latest addition to its off-field roster. Tugger, a 10-week-old puppy named in memory of Phillies legend Tug McGraw, is preparing to spend two years training as a service dog. Tugger will be paired with a veteran once his training is completed.

Conshohocken-based Team Foster is the lead nonprofit partner with the Phillies for Tugger. Team Foster raises money to provide accredited, life-saving service dogs to injured and disabled veterans. It works with three accredited training organizations, including Warrior Canine Connection, which is training Tugger.
