Plymouth Meeting Swimmer Signs Letter of Intent to Swim at the University of Georgia

The University of Georgia recently announced that Plymouth Meeting’s Andrew Abruzzo has signed a national letter of intent to swim for the school. Abruzzo will join the Georgia program as freshmen in the 2018-19 season.

Abruzzo attends Germantown Academy and competes for Plymouth Whitemarsh Aquatics. He is coached by Dick Shoulberg, who operates a swimming program out of Mermaid Lake in Blue Bell. Abruzzo was recently named to the USA Swimming 2017-18 National Team in the 800 and 1,500 freestyle events. Abruzzo won 2017 Junior World Championship titles in the 400, 800 and 1,500 freestyle. Earlier in his career, he won silver medals at the 2016 Junior Pan Pacific Championships in the 800 and 1,500 freestyle. Abruzzo is a Scholastic All-American.
