The Plymouth Township Police Department issued a notice on August 27th that announces it is increasing patrols due to a rash of incidents between Wednesday, August 21st and Saturday, August 24th. According to notice, the department investigated an attempted armed robbery of a motor vehicle, an
attempted robbery/carjacking of a high-end vehicle, an attempted theft of a motor vehicle, and thefts from motor vehicles in the areas between Ridge Pike, Butler Pike, and North Lane in the township.
Investigators found that “each incident involved a group of suspects.” In two of the incidents, the suspects fled from police on foot and in a vehicle. In another incident, two juveniles were arrested for outstanding robbery and motor vehicle theft warrants, and a stolen, loaded firearm was recovered.

On social media, there was an incorrect report from a member of the public that there was a “home invasion” in the area of Taylor Road in Conshohocken (Whitemarsh Township), which is in close proximity to the area involved in the above incidents.
The Plymouth Township Police Department has increased patrols in the neighborhoods and
surrounding areas. The department asked that you call 911 to report any suspicious activity, regardless of how minor it may seem.
Police ask that the public remain remain vigilant and take the proper precautions to secure vehicles
and property:
- Lock your cars and your residence’s doors and windows.
- Do not leave your keys in your vehicle, including valet keys.
- Remove any valuables from your vehicle. It is not sufficient to just put them in your trunk, take them inside.
- Be aware of your surroundings, not just when you are walking, but also when you are driving.
- External lights on a residence help to deter crime.
- Ensure surveillance and alarm systems are functioning properly and recording.
- If you don’t have a surveillance system, consider installing one.
- If you are going away, contact the Police Department and make a vacation notice. Officers will make checks of your residence while you are away.
- If you see something, say something. Call 911 and report suspicious activity.
