Plymouth Township recently recognized police officers and staff for their response to violent incident in October

6ABC Action News recently covered the ceremony to honor Plymouth Township police officers, dispatchers, and administrators for their response to the violent confrontation involving a vehicle in Plymouth Meeting on October 24th.

During that incident, two officers were injured, including Officer Jake Hennessey, who spent a week in the hospital recovering from a leg injury after being struck by the vehicle. His badly injured leg is still healing, and he attended the ceremony using a wheelchair. You can read about the full incident here.

During the ceremony, Police Chief John C. Myrsiades stated that the officers used themselves as shields to protect unsuspecting bystanders during an intentional attack on officers’ lives.
