Plymouth Township’s council voted 5-0 to approve a zoning map amendment that would rezone the Plymouth Ridge office park at 523, 525, 527, and 531 Plymouth Road in Plymouth Meeting (Plymouth Township) to residential zoning that would allow the property to be redeveloped with townhouses.

The change in zoning allows developer Sal Paone to move forward with a plan for up to 159 townhomes on the property.

Several proposals have been made to redevelop the property in recent years. Concepts have included a larger office building, apartments, a mental health hospital, and a self-storage facility.

During the recent hearing for the zoning map change, nearby residents expressed concerns increasing density and traffic.
