Portion of Germantown Pike to Close for One Day

A portion of West Germantown Pike will be closed from Saturday, March 31st at 7:00 a.m. to Sunday, April 1st at 7:00 a.m.. The road closure will be between Swede Road and North Whitehall Road. The purpose of the closure is to allow CSX to make necessary repairs to its railroad tracks.

Montgomery County posted the following about detours:

During the closure, there will still be access through the barriers on North Whitehall Road to Einstein Montgomery Medical Center’s entrance on West Germantown Pike for all vehicles. Those wishing to access Norristown Farm Park during this time can do so by taking North Wales Road to Barley Sheaf Drive/Upper Farm Road.

During the closure, vehicles traveling west on Germantown Pike will be detoured right onto Dekalb Pike, to turn left onto Skippack Pike, and left again on North Whitehall Road to rejoin Germantown Pike. Vehicles travelling east will be detour left onto North Whitehall Road, make a right into Skippack Pike.

Construction is expected to last less than one day and West Germantown Pike will be reopened by April 1st at 7:00 a.m.
