On the July 14th agenda for West Conshohocken’s borough council is a presentation from Haverford Development Partners that involves the potential redevelopment of 17-31 Front Street into townhomes. This is an informal presentation to gauge the response of the council. A previous presentation was done before the Open Space, Parks and Recreation Committee in June.
We did not attend the previous presentation, but someone familiar with it shared that the proposal is to build approximately 10 townhouses across the properties, which is slightly more than allowed under the current zoning.
Over the past few years, there have been two other presentations involving redeveloping these properties. The first involved a 25-story apartment building with some retail and a rooftop restaurant. The second proposed a nine-story apartment building. Neither proposal sought approval.
The property at 31 Front Street has been the home in the past few decades of Cunningham’s Court, Baggataway Tavern, and WestSide Bar & Grill. The other properties involved have been residential.
More to come.
