Students from Plymouth Whitemarsh High School who are involved in the school’s Interact Helping Hand’s Club are taking the initiative to improve the conditions and adoption rates at the Conshohocken SPCA. Collaborating with the Conshohocken-Plymouth-Whitemarsh Rotary Club, they are working towards the goal of making the clinic a better place for abandoned animals to live until they are adopted by new families.
The club hopes to help increase adoption rates with “Pet of the Month” type ads in local newspapers and school-wide videos. Students have been visiting the clinic to take videos and pictures of the animals that need homes the most. They make them into short videos with descriptions of each animal featured that week and what homes they may fit into.
