NO MORE MASKS

Anything you want to share about your No. 1 Issue?
There doesn’t seem to be a long-term vision of what the borough managers want Conshohocken to be. It seems we’ve allowed developers (commercial & residential) to go completely unchecked.
The Conshohocken portion of Whitemarsh Township needs more sidewalks. It’s a challenge for kids to play ‘ people to walk their dog.
It is so surprising how the township is not doing more with pursuing Covanta to be responsible for what they are doing to our area. They are toxic and should not have a place in a residential area in 2021. The malfunctions, noise and disturbance is not acceptable anymore. The area has changed significantly from the start of this plant, it is NOT okay to have this in our residential neighborhood…..and everyone seems to be turning a blind eye to all of it and doing the very minimal to fight back.
Council doesn’t care about family life in conshohocken.
We could be doing a lot better when it comes to the cleanliness of our community
The continued approval of building is exacerbating the traffic situation.
The small town conshohocken is disappearing. No more large buildings or apartments!!
The amount of apartments and condos recently approved is absurd. The traffic situation during rush is not to close to acceptable.
I receive more details from this site than I do from the current borough council. My Ward 3 rep (Sokolowski) is a black hole when it comes to communication efforts or ideas.
Stop putting multiple houses on single lots. The town is over developed
No
I oppose the sale of the sewer authority
Stop approving apartment and townhome developments!
I equate quality of life and environment as same.
Our elected officials have done a very good job here in recent years. Some added focus needs to happen on establishments that could round out our walkable options, namely a source for groceries and a reliable farmers market (as seasonally appropriate.)
More transparency on where our taxes are being spent.
Too much development
We are overdeveloped! Stop!
Given the amount of green space left, the amount of traffic, and the amount of residences in the township we need to focus on keeping our town a town and not develop into a city. How much money does the township receive annually by constructing 100 new homes? Not much! Green space is a premium and the amount of it left is heartbreaking. I’d be willing to pay more in taxes to keep the township the way it is. I live in a neighborhood that luckily has a park very close. The township approved building five homes between that park and a cemetery. There is no reason to take that green space away for more houses. Lastly, traffic is so bad around this area that diving during rush hour, it can take five to ten minutes to find an opening to leave my neighborhood. I’ve lived in the township for 12 years now and the amount it has changed, for the worst, is making me considering moving.
More adult recreational activities would be appreciated.
Dogs should be allowed in parks at least along paths and on leash. And they should get ride of the parking on Fayette between 1st and second and extend the side walk area to expand outdoor options for our restaurants. Even post covid. Approve the wawa
Need a second bridge or pedestrian/bike bridge and expand lanes on existing
Deal with the aging streets / lighting / sidewalks / parking of West Conshohocken. WC Parks are a joke. Conshohocken has spent a considerable amount of money on upgrading their parks. They are beautiful! West Conshohocken has done nothing. I take my children to a park in Lower Merion, or Conshohocken to play. West Conshohocken needs to address the parks. Its sad that I live in town and take my children out of it to play at a nice park.
There is too much development without concerns for the proper infrastructure. In other municipalities the developers are required to contribute towards upgrades to the area.
Less taxes, less government
Stop building so many new houses or multi-occupancy buildings before addressing traffic concerns
Plymouth township is not completly transparent with their cozy relationships with Union Influence
Higher taxes usually means higher corruption
I wish there was some way to build housing that was not $500,000 townhouses or fancy apartments. Everyone wants the old blue collar family friendly Conshohocken, but only wealthy white collar folks can afford to move here.
Too many apartments/ condos being built
Public Safety is the most important.
Traffic building due to overdevelopment
Abandoned Moore car dealership is such an eyesore – I wish they would just do something with it (Wawa or something else)
Council is out of touch with where residents stand on development in he borough.
Water & Sewer should not be privatized. I’ve seen the slippery slope of rising costs once for-profit companies take over. Utilities should be non-profit, period.
All municipalities need to work together to get rid of Covanta
Most roads are in need of repair and even full resurfacing.
More communication with residents on upcoming development in consideration would add transparency and trust. An environmental assessment on every new development and sustainable/environmentally sound practices a requirement would be an excellent standard.
I would like to know how our local politicians felt about a topic before an election. Not electing a haircut I want to know your position.
It affects everthinh.
Schools are overcrowded
Easier pedestrian access to downtown Conshohocken / train via bridge from west Conshohocken. Right now it’s dangerous.
All three of my choices go hand in hand
It would be great if we do not “over develop” Conshohocken. Congestion is not a good thing.
Pedestrian safety in this “walking town” is not considered at all. The buck constantly gets passed as to who is responsible. During the winter in West Conshohocken the Clay Doc “walkway” is not salted, shoveled or in any way kept passible, there are no intersection crossway cut-throughs shoveled through the mountains of snow plowed to the side of the curbs, and none of the sidewalks that have no clearly defined responsible owners are shoveled. Moorehead to Matson Ford- Fayette St., along the front of MacDonald’s ahs NEVER been shoveled in the three years I have lived here causing a very treacherous situation.

The major intersection in West Conchy are very poorly marked! No one pays attention to pedestrian crossings to stop (and there is no signage at all to remind them) and the walkman signals are hidden by “Welcome to the borough of West Conshohocken signs”.

Pedestrian safety/care is deplorable as traffic increases exponentially!!!!!! This situation is insane!
The majority of the current Council members are not willing to be transparent to residents.
More mixed use development, grocery store
Traffic on Fayette St and lack of speed control by police.
A grocery store would improve the quality of life for many
Can’t get mail due to eminent domain and mail does not have access to my street
A bridge study is needed or at least an answer why it hasn’t been done already.
Traffic before COVID was really bad during rush hours, and on weekends, with many new multi-unit dwellings under construction in and around Plymouth Twp. During COVID, it’s been “pleasant”, but I worry what things will be like when we get back to normal. I was at the point where I was considering moving! (e.g. Trying to get from the west side of the turnpike to the PWHS could take over 30 minutes!
N/A
Excessive approvals and zoning given to large office building, condos, and apartment buildings.
Thank god they fixed Butler Pike
We need to ensure that crime does to start to climb.
Quit selling out land to corporations for development. River access is mandatory for residents.
Without transparency there cannot be trust
Tax payers should get to keep more of their money
Taxes keep climbing and people can’t afford them!
Need to keep taxes low until the Economy improves
Need much more police enforcement of traffic laws.
The beauty of whitemarsh township is disappearing before our very eyes. The lack of desire to preserve history is sad.
No more hiding agendas or intentions of any political party
Whitemarsh has to prioritize its tree canopy
With overwhelming representation by only one political party within Conshohocken Borough Council, there is an issue with transparency. I believe there needs to be a counter-balance to ensure a spotlight is placed on items being addressed by Council as well as the issues that are important to residents.
Too much development
We are acting like a big city municipality and have got away from what we once were. a small town. Stop the over development.
I strongly disagree with the sale of the sewer and the lack of information provided by the borough.
Our local infrastructure can not keep pace with the development. Roads are awful, and seemingly not all developers are not asked for money to improve it. Not all apartment dwellers will take the train. And the train station is a trailer and the tracks get flooded and they are close to falling into the river when you get past Miquon.
Continue to improve control of crime. Especially as an influx of workers and residents flood Conshohocken
No
Traffic is a disaster in conshohocken
Whitemarsh Township must remain a desirable place for seniors to live or we will take our taxes elsewhere.
The development of additional housing has caused too much traffic in the area and the township is allowing this to happen
I want a safe environment, where kids do not have to worry about crime and drugs. I know they are everywhere, but I choose Conshohocken because it is mostly a safe town.
Feel some board members are not totally up front with residents.
I just want no BS. Honesty goes a long way.
Lack of reigning in development by Township staff because elected officials do not insist that less development be a priority for staff; namely, to work within the law to stop this overdevelopment that allows for every square inch of land to be developed because history has allowed an overabundance of waivers.
Speeding & obeying traffic signs has gotten a lot worse around town
We don’t know who they are until their seats are up for re-election
With massive funding to public schools as part of the next stimulus relief bill we should expect/demand school school taxes be kept flat
There is a lot of new construction that is changing the town. It’s becoming more of
A small city
Covanta is ruining our environment and our neighborhood. We can not coexist with a business who breaks epa regulations and considers fines imposed a cost of doing business. Harsher fines/punishments must be imposed to stop their recklessness. People’s respiratory systems along w quality of life are at stake.
Commercial development needs to be curtailed.
Roads and curbs crumbling. They haven’t been done in the 43 years I’ve lived here!
Parking is a very serious issue on my street as more and more homes on my street have become rental properties made worst by the amount of snow we got in February. The young people taking parking stops of the older residents on the street causing bad feeling between neighbors.
Traffic on West Elm Street
Sewer sale is idiotic
Increase the connectivity of the area, more walk/bike only routes, more policies to slow speeds on all roads, speedbumps, etc
Explain the full spectrum of both short and long term financial implications of the pending decision on the sewage plant as it relates to the cost to consumer and future taxes for all scenarios
Pedestrian safety, at major intersections and Clay-Doc walkways. Penndot/SEPTA/Police/borough responsibilities-they all seem to pass the buck. Clear ownership of snow removal must be identified and responsible parties held accountable. Drivers must be ticketed when they do not yield to pedestrians in walkways-no excuses. This must be a priority.
With all the new Office Buildings, Apartments and homes paying property taxes the boro should have enough money to do what needs to be done with out selling the sewer plant.
With our wonderful town building more living quarters and offices, the traffic will be busy. The bridge on Fayette is already a mess after work with that being the only way to get in and out of Conshohocken. How are they planning for safer travel and less car pile up?
Traffic is terrible in Conshohocken, and getting worse by the day.
We need to put pedestrian & bike bridge underneath the Fayette auto bridge and use the existing sidewalk space for a 3rd lane variable direction. We need a bridge from 76 to North Lane with exits to reduce traffic on the Fayette bridge. This would also increase acess from new apartments to West Conshohocken businesses.
I am concerned that all the new buildings are going to drive up taxes especially with the number of office buildings because they seem to get the breaks.
We need another bridge to go across the river
Cut taxes and stop spending on things government shouldn’t be doing
Tired of seeing every inch of conshohocken being filled with apartment buildings
Over development without needed infrastructure.
the traffic on the bridge needs to be addressed before Sora is completed
Doesn’t matter
Too much growth. Not a hometown feel
All this building is happening without concern for traffic. They should tax the builders to pay for infrastructure so the sewer system won’t have to be sold.
Why is there a truck parked on pothole on chemical road?
They keep building on every piece of open land
Too expensive to live in my hometown of Conshohocken
Development zone- flooding, selling sewer, overloading streets
High volume of traffic and numerous pinch points such as the bridge. Also a major fixable issue is everyone running stop signs. I know it happens everywhere but especially bad at entrances to Sutcliffe Park.
Up grade landscape with more trees
Conshohocken needs another access road to get in and out , what happened to the idea of connecting 476 to a street in conshohocken?
I don’t want waste of money
One party control is dangerous on so many levels. As an independent, we need to diversify power across party lines and ideologies.
The Dem controlled Whitemarsh BOS *says* they care about the environment, but their actions say otherwise. Talk is cheap.
Knowing that our local government resides within the community assists with feeling comfortable that quality of life issues will be addressed.
Proper snow plowing to curb, reliable and neat trash/recycle pickup.
Conshohocken has gone through a major building spurt, but little has been done to address the infrastructure needs to accommodate it.
We have too much traffic coming thru Conshohocken
I feel there is too much hiding information from the public. Protect your own world and only use the public if it’s to their benefit.
Too much construction
Must take immediate measures locally to positively address climate changes, pollution, species decline.
As we continue to build and build the tax base for the borough, why is there no opportunity for tax relief for current residents?
Overdevelopment has so many negative impacts… lack of open space for environmental health, traffic, quality of life, branding of Plymouth Meeting as a quality life experience, and so much more. Our historic sites are irreplaceable and give a unique quality to our geographic region.
The covanta plant needs to have third party independent oversight. As well as some other industrial sites nearby and within conshohocken that pollute our air. We should know their emissions are safe.
After complaining about the horrendous water after raining (lack of drainage) on 100 blk of E 11th nothing has been done. The alley is in desperate, and has been for years, need of paving. Awful potholes and erosion of road as well as e11th street itself. I will not vote for the current reps again.
There are currently two new apartment complexes being built in Conshy. Has anyone on the council considered the mess this is going to cause traffic wise? It’s already a mess and this is going to make it even worse. Conshy is no longer the little town I grew up in and loved. It’s now becoming a small city with the continued building of office and apartment complexes. When’s it going to stop???
Covanta is a threat to the health and well-being of Conshohocken residents, and needs to be closed for good. Let’s begin to explore what that looks like, and what initiatives council can take to offset the added cost of an alternative, and ultimately how much residents are willing to sacrifice in the name of their health and community.
I would like to see a dog park and nicer outdoor parks
Sick of hearing ‘sell the sewer system”, “sell the trash service”, “sell the community center”. Any of those actions will result in lower quality of services and ultimately lower quality of life. And they will cost residents more. Figure out sustainable cost and revenue models that avoid quality of life reductions. Also, more parks is always better!
Proactively addressing traffic amid development is key
No defunding of Police
If you sell our non-profit sewer system to a for-profit company, you are losing votes.
Non-pandemic traffic over the only bridge in town will continue to plague us residents as more business and more high volume residences get built
How the middle school was built
Over spending
We are already over developed. It’s ruining what makes Conshohocken great. Please think about this.
No more tearing down single homes for multiple homes
Think about and take into consideration the long term residents who have to constantly fight for parking before approving another apartment building construction project.
The building everywhere needs to STOP!!!
Traffic at elm and Fayette is awful. Getting in and out of Conshohocken at rush hour is a huge issue and needs to be addressed
During peak times, the flow is very slow.
It creates jobs, wish the national gov. would get their act together and create jobs in this way.
With proper planning and use of Corporate tax revenue Residential taxes should remain at current rates
I have lived in Conshohocken all my life and have rarely seen the streets repaved. I have never seen the streets repaved, just patched over the last 43 years on the upper avenues and side streets.
Getting too congested around here
Taxes continue to increase every year even though more and more businesses are coming to the area. Why can’t those businesses pickup the bulk of the tax burden like is done in King of Prussia?
Traffic is currently a big issue on West elm with no “real solutions” being acted on. Now developments keep being approved without any serious concerns about traffic nightmares!
not walker friendly have to walk in streets
Clean up trash on the sides of the roads in our area
Needs to be a complete overhaul of alleys in borough. Paving potholes snow plowing. Raise taxes if you need to. It will make a huge difference in how Conshohocken looks and operates. Will help with property values. Extremely dangerous in winter with ice. Plus would help parking situation. Please please do something above alleys. Homes are selling for 800k. Isn’t it time???
Seniors shouldn’t have to pay school tax
I am tried of the over building in Conshohocken. Every square inch has a building project: 1000 or so new apartments along the river, the Sora West office/ hotel/parking garage that blocks out the sun, new office building near river, ripping down one house to build two or three houses on the same lot and the WAWA/Moore project (5 to 6 years of attending meetings in vain only to have us thrown under the bus by the borough council). Some say this is progress I say it is over use of an area that grows more congested each year. Since we can’t expand the town we just keep making builds higher. I feel like I live in a city. I can’t wait until people start going back to the office to work, the hotel and AmerisourceBergen open up for use, the apartments along the river get filled – sounds like a congestion nightmare. And we can all thank our Borough Council – was their any project that came before the council that didn’t get approved? Name one!!
There are a number of low cost solutions to our worsening traffic issue. One would be to build an on-ramp heading onto I-476 South right off Brook/Alan Wood Road in the area near IKEA and the Trash to Steam Plant. This would alleviate traffic on Ridge Pike and would reduce traffic along Colwell Lane and the residential side streets of both Conshohocken and Plymouth Township. Plus this cost-effective solution would provide another crossing over the Schuylkill River so it would reduce traffic on the overly congested Matteson Ford Bridge.
Need to be forward-thinking
Fix it!
No more apartments and townhomes!
Why are contractors not held to the highest standard when building and completing projects
We have entirely too much development happening locally. We do not have the infrastructure to support it. It’s causing other issues (traffic, sinkholes, etc). We do not need another townhome community. If you insist on allowing every patch of grass to be developed, then consider single family homes. It’s a disgrace what our officials have allowed to take place on our community. No thought put in to how this affects the community.
The only opinion ever acted on is that of consultants. It took several years to get officials to realise the bottleneck on ridge pike between Dunkin Donuts + Dominos pizza that the safety lane disappears because of infringement on the curbs. The Butler pike road closure took over 2 years and was on the back burner somewhere, affecting traffic flow in the area. Don’t forget the widening that needs to happen on Germantown pike to move traffic near Chemical rd, and Butler pike intersections. Sandy hill rd intersection needs to be re done, for traffic to enter a T intersection so anyone going from Sandy hill rd. can go through a sign al and proceed west on Germantown pike.
The new construction should be responsible for road repair in area if construction.I would like to see some public art also. For additional recreation I would like to see a boat house built near the river where the new apartments are located and boats can be stored for rent

Comments on No. 2 Issue

Anything you want to share about your No. 2 Issue?
Understandably, many council meetings were cancelled last year due to COVID; however, it’s almost comical the amount of council/committee meetings that have been cancelled over the last couple years citing “no new business”. It smells of people in positions that do not want to do their jobs.
We bought new construction and our zoning discussions with whitemarsh township were tough to swallow. They were very inflexible with any potential change we wanted to make.
Would love to see the contract with Covanta cancelled!
Continuing to make this area as family friendly as possible.
Same as 1
Are our tax dollars really being put to good use
I like what they’ve done with parks and family events
No more apartments or condos until you have additional access to 76
No
Traffic in the borough is hindering the safety and quality of life in the town.
Development = traffic. Stopping 1 helps 2
We seem to add homes without a plan on infrastructure and tax impacts
The main hinderance to development and growth is traffic. We need another bridge, likely by Spring Mill train station (so also involving Plymouth) and/or past the AccelorMital plant. It won’t be easy, but it needs to happen or we’ll continue to be choked by traffic.
More transparency on the crime statistics and where to find them. More visibility on our police doing actual police work. Community service photo ops are great, but I haven’t seen a conshy borough cop making a traffic stop in over a year. I can find work for them. Just sit at any intersection along any East Hector St intersection and they would have a treasure trove of citations that could bring revenue to the borough. Law enforcement isn’t hard, laws are being broken at alarming rates. Just a little effort would help.
No parking
Elected officials appear to be more akugned with developers than citizens.
See answer to 3
There are numerous eye sore properties in limbo stages of construction in our town. Council / Borough Management has done nothing to improve them / make the contractors finish them. Moorehead Ave project. A Joke. A councilwoman lives down the street from it and has not spoken a word about helping to clean it up or get it back on track. Act council! Hold contractors accountable. Have code enforcement deal with it. Ohh… its hard to have code enforcement do anything when they only work part time and are in the municipality 20 hours a week.
No deals done in secret
Traffic on the bridge! People flying through residential neighborhoods such as east Hector.
Council needs to keep its influence out of running the Police Department. They have no clue how hard it is to keep the residents of the township safe. That is the police chiefs job.
Gotta keep it green , no I am not talking about money
The roads are constantly being torn up, Ridge and Butler and parts of Fayetteville are a struggle.
No infrastructure to spport new development
Maintain what is currently in place.
Overdevelopment
School reopening – kids need to be back 5 days a week in person
Council is out of touch with where residents stand on the sewer sale in he borough.
Roadways need to be maintained and developed as you increase population. We need long term planning to accomplish this. Most communities ignore this until people start complaining about traffic issues and poor roadways. We need to stay on top of this.
Our parks/rec and community centers/spaced are awesome, keep up the good work
Too much traffic now and with all the new construction of homes it will only get worse. If you can’t eliminate traffic then control it with road improvements, traffic lights and stop signs.
I would love to live in a Borough that valued an Improvement of municipal waste practices, robust waste reduction education (NOT focused on recycling but on reduction), and an active environmental program to promote green building, storm run off management, and green space protection.
Traffic on our roads make them less safe and hurt our infrastructure.
I fear we’re adding too many additional apartment complexes
Too many homes being developed in Colonial school district
Easier pedestrian access to downtown Conshohocken.
See above
Allowing zoning variances should be the exception, not the rule.
I live in an extremely noisy new-construction building. I don’t know how this design was approved and inspection passed given the extreme noise issues within the building.
More housing, so prices stabilize
The traffic was a work, rush hour problem which will.increase when the new office building is opener
Transparency of where tax dollars are used
Have to wait to get into my driveway due to eminent domain and access to my house
One of the reasons we left the borough is because nobody stops at stop signs and as a family or 4 with a dog, we have had a lot of close encounters at different times. Still fast drivers/rolling stoppers in Plymouth, but not as bad!
Related to the traffic concern, there is development going on both within and around Plymouth Twp. With traffic already bad, the high-density dwellings will really swell the volume, with little room for any further expansion. So when is it enough? Time to put a halt to the multi-unit dwellings, and time to try to influence or partner with the townships around to control and maintain things!
Lack of dog access to all public parks in the borough except the dog park
What took so long to fix Butler Pike
The amount of overdevelopment and irresponsible development practices is staggering.
Conshohocken is to easy on developers and it is ruining the town
It’s important to keep roads, etc in good shape. Traffic will inevitably be bad if the infrastructure is.
The traffic is only getting worse yet the borough continues to let one house go down and 2 or more be built all across town
Traffic in this area is out of control already
Way to many house and townhouses being built without improving Infrastructure
Very concerned about the traffic in Conshohocken…
Excessive development is rapidly destroying Whitemarsh Township.
Education was not on the list, although taxes comes into play. The way public education has been treated in the past year is sad.
High taxes because of success are not helpful
Zoning should be followed to the letter of the law and waivers or variances should not be granted for developers. Zoning should be rewritten to remove any conflicts. The Township solicitor should protect the interests of residents first and foremost before that of developers.
The matter of the Borough’s infrastructure and needed improvements looms large and plays a significant role in whether or not the sewer system is sold (transparency is also important here). Residents should be presented with a concise list of “if/then” scenarios on how infrastructure improvements might be funded.
Never see/hear/get a response from council person unless it’s election time.
It is hard to believe that with all the recent additions to the Conshohocken Borough that Borough Council have not been getting their pockets lined for approval of said projects, (Sora) Now the building of the new Hotel next to Washington Fire Company. The denial by the Zoning Board and yet still the blatant disregard of the Zoning Board over WaWa. Allowing only certain companies to bid on services even though those Companies have the necessary legal documents and the know how to provide whatever the project specifies.
Conshohocken is being over developed and losing all of its hometown charm to big buildings.
Bad intersections and traffic flow. The bridge is a mess and now there’s a new office building and 3 new apartment complexes. How will they move in and out of town?
Ensure that the corporations in Conshohocken are continued to be taxed approximately. This will allow for the residential property and school taxes to continue to stay reasonable.
No
We must feel safe in our homes to stay here.
Smart growth is key. Having people who review the issue and not only the impact new construction has on the Borough, but the types of business and how they promote community and benefit the residents.
Feel like some board members make decisions according to the financial backing they may have received for their election.
I chose to live here because I love this area. Things can continue to be improved though!
Traffic studies have proven useless. There has never been a traffic study that states, “there is too much traffic”……how is that possible? The Township goes through the motions with no conviction to find A Way to stop development that will lead to unmanageable traffic situations.
Parking is an issue throughout the Borough. #1 offer parallel parking classes. #2 with all the development and traffic why haven’t our street surfaces been addressed? Been here since 2001, same street, more patches!
What is the borough doing to attract and support new storefronts along Rt 23
Taxes should be affordable.
We need better diversification in our police force.
School taxes should be refunded in part when school is not in person learning!
Speeding on the Main Street. A frequent walking along the main St. down to trail you’re taking a risk even crossing the street.
Replacing current ward one official
Keep developing
Better garbage collection, recycling ALWAYS is EVERYWHERE when it is windy, should force people and trucks to cover garbage and fine if they don’t
I would like to know current status of the West Conshy township plan that in planning until COVID
Quality of life covers everything else, traffic, crime ect.
Quality of life for West Conshohocken would primarily be creating a better restaurant district and enhancing parks. Also Requiring sidewalks to be maintained by offering 50% of cost of repairs to homeowners.
I am concerned about the amount of building both residential and commercial. It seems like whomever is elected pimps out the citizens for the almighty buck. They over develop and then there is traffic congestion. The new construction requires a parking pad, garage or driveway but the new people coming in have several cars. It needs to stop. Why are people allowed to knock down homes that have a certain foot print and then build one that is at least one level higher and longer in length. It’s great for everyone except for the people who have lived here forever.
Traffic over the fateyette st bridge is horrendous.
We need to halt on the construction on new housing
Police force is really the only thing we need local government for
Traffic needs to be considered more in development/zoning.
Nope
Driveways blocked, stop signs blocked cops do nothing
Traffic is only getting worse with all the building going on around here. The bridge traffic is only getting worse as well.
Why did it take over a year to open butler pk
growing up you could just look L-R-L and cross Germantown Pike. Now, it could be 3-4 minutes before you can cross and your still taken your life in your own hands
Traffic was awful before we had to work at home, more apartments will make it worse
Nothing being done to help the situation, except for building more and than ripping up Fayette st and leaving patches on the road.
I would like to be more involved with local government
Same as above
Traffic takes away quality of life here
I wish we would stop cutting down trees to develop every square inch of the township. I’ve lived here for almost 20 years and can see the decline in quality of life because of it.
Whitemarsh Township & Colonial School District has lower taxes than all the surrounding communities.
Cluster housing developers seem to be using poor quality building materials/practices that result in shabby appearance after several years of service.
Less building of apartments/condos/townhouses, more thinking about traffic, safety, accessibility, etc.
Everywhere you look they are putting up new apartment buildings. Where is all this traffic going to go?
Fiscal responsibility seems non-existent
Too much behind the scenes deals
Would be great to see Conshohocken become more bicycle friendly town.
What kind of guardrails has the borough considered before they privatize the sewer to ensure we are paying 2 or 3x what we currently pay for this service?
As energy sources and priorities change we must provide all residents with the infrastructure to choose the best economic choices.
Maintaining infrastructure like our public water and waste systems, bridges, buildings, etc is important to health and safety so I’d like to continue this to be a priority
Stop the building. This is no longer a small quaint little town. It’s now becoming a small city. At what point does the council decide enough is enough with the office and apartment complexes? Is the plan to build on every available space? Will the parks be the next target because the kids don’t use them enou
There needs to be an exit off of 476NB after crossing the river, just north of Ardmore tire. This could significantly reduce traffic over the bridge, especially 476N and 76E bound traffic.
I don’t feel that Our govt uses money well
No more high density housing, period. Tax revenue per house is lower compared to single family detached homes for the same service requirements (trash, sewer, police and fire support, etc) and traffic is much higher. Not a winning combination.
Get the WAWA issue resolved & built…10 years is enough!!
Increasing property value and increasing the attractiveness for living in Conshohocken
Paid a lot of 2020 School taxes; partial refunds should be given
See above. Too many people, only one way to get over the river.
How much our taxes have gone up
Too much development
Excessive high rise construction not good for our little town. Too many multiple rental units.
Excessive high rise construction is over amplifying the constant log jam of traffic in Conshohocken.
The types of infrastructure being approved (condos, apartments, hotel, Corporate HQs) is mind blowing yet a Wawa can’t be brought in and takes years to get through. There is no thought going into the real issues of how to address the worst to come with traffic and the influx of people with all these new residential and Corp buildings
Need more planning with development of the town
What is the point of everything else if we don’t have a world to pass on to future generations. People need to get their heads straight about this issue. Not rocket science.
Significant funding is provided for policing and crime prevention. I would like more effective methods used to lower crime in Comshy. Do not cover up and hide crime like the series of robberies along Fayette St in 2020. Inform residents to help protect them
I paid my school taxes so kids don’t go to school! Ironic! Catholic and private schools have in person learning and no major setbacks. No unions either!!
And it’s not getting any cheaper
See above. Beginning to get over saturated with restaurants. There is a need for a small footprint grocery, something like Sprouts or Fresh Market, Trader Joe’s, etc.
up keep playground at school ln , its a lake under the play equipment
Fix potholes
Bring rental rate down. Rentals are not taken care of in many situations. Plus it attracts renters with pit bulls etc (dogs that are not covered under insurance).
Attract restaurateurs from Center City. Please put moratorium on pizza/Italian dining. It is 2021. Try talking to Michael Solomonov about lunch spot. With new Pharma site open plus all millennials, we have the foot traffic. Dining is so mediocre in Borough.
Traffic and the condition of some of the roads are horrendous at times
The last 20 to 25 years the building boom in Conshohocken has brought more houses built, more townhouses/apartments built, more office buildings built equaling more borough taxes (not to mention the 2020 tax increase) and more fees for permits collected. Because of all this building there are more people working and living here which equals more earned income tax for the borough. Where does all the money go when now we are being threaten with a tax increase if we don’t sell the Sewer Authority so we can fix our infrastructure. Where was all the planning over the years?
Our Borough needs to enhance and beautify and where possible expand our parks. We need more trees and bushes with COLOR added to our Parks and open spaces. This is extremely important and is a major health and quality of life issue. We also need to broaden and expand access to the existing Schuylkill River bike trail by building sidewalks, bike lanes and walking trails. This will reduce and slow down vehicle traffic too.
What kind of city do they want Conshohocken to be
stop building condos/apartments
Red light cameras on Ridge
Plymouth township is only 10 square miles. Developers are changing the look of the township and getting all the variances to increase density. Scale back the zoning for less density. If it’s not slowed down we will soon look like Manayunk.
How is the additional traffic going to be handled at the bridge and at the five intersections in W Conshohocken

Question 3

Anything you want to share about your No. 3 Issue?
Keep adding additional recreation options.
Same as 1
Our roads are being used more than ever. We need to do a better job at taking care of them. Also the same neighbors have been loosing power if there is a storm since the 80s. It’s time to fix the problem so the community doesn’t have to rely on PECO.
Concerned with all development that the roads are prepared, not all ramp access
Specific to the SRT – walking home from both train stations at night is quite eerie.
No
I would like to see more transparency with what type of crimes are being committed.
Always want to feel safe in my home and street
Rental demand drives demand for property so apartment complexes aren’t necessarily a bad thing, but until traffic is dealt with, we need to pump the brakes on these large apartment communities being approved. We also need a running public accountability system to hold these developers responsible for the promises made when negotiating aspects of the properties.
The Conshy public works are great! Probably the hardest working individuals within the borough. Thank you!
Congested
Being retired affords limited income. Tax increases would be a hardship.
Replacing single homes with twins or more will catch up with the old infrastructure soon, if not already
There have been numerous talks within West Conshohocken’s Borough’s Council, about de funding the police department and fire department. They have talked about cutbacks, closing them and going with mutual aid for fire services / state police for law enforcement. Members of this current council do not value public safety and think that we are spending too much money on the current emergency assets we already own. Volunteering is dwindling and this current council has offered little to no help to recruit / retain volunteer firefighters.
I do not believe the sewer system should be sold for infrastructure improvements. Raise the fees for new construction and sub-divisions, There is enough building going on to fund these projects.
Local government needs to let it be know that ANY crime will not be tolerated
The township needs to be more Fiscally responsible with spending the tax dollars.
No one likes shady shit
Ridge Pike and Chemical Road are not walkable in many places. Very dangerous to try and walk from Target to Ridge. So many people struggle with this, trying to get to a bus route or just walking home from shopping.
Already low, keep there.
Historic preservation – hate to see old houses torn down for cookie cutter new development
Council is out of touch with where residents stand on the earned income tax in he borough.
Anything we can do to provide better walking paths, parking, parks, etc. Also, why does Conshohocken ban dogs from parks? I moved here recently and never experienced so many no-dog bans on local public parks. We should still fine people for not cleaning up after their pets, but a total ban is ridiculous.
Our area is desirable bc of the low taxes
The Plymouth Police do a great job in controlling crime. I feel very safe living in Plymouth Township.
Infrastructure is not as fun as access to parks, restaurants, etc. But critical for those to successful as well and that would be my No. 4.
Easier pedestrian access to downtown Conshohocken.
See above
Too many office buildings, working remotely is the future
There needs to be more help in developing downtown conshohocken which would improve value of living here. Compared to phoenixville, manayunk, wayne, ambler the downtown is not developed as it should be and our government should have a hand in it.
I was going to select “Crime” as #3, as we all want to keep crime at low levels, but recently, I’ve grown concerned about the Covanta plant emissions. The number of times we smell burning plastic/trash outside has become quite frequent, and if we can smell it, what we’re breathing is likely very bad for human health!
Goes back to issue one with the zoning given to large office buildings and the added traffic into and out of the borough with limited major inlets and outlets
Why did it take over a year to fill a hole with dirt
There needs to be transparency with local officials.
Quality of life
The police are doing an outstanding job. Would should never take them for granted.
The traffic is bad because they keep allowing more and more development
Transparency needs significant improvement at all levels and offices in Whitemarsh Township.
The zoning goes back to traffic. It will not get better as you continue to add more office buildings and apartment complexes. The flooding is an issue as well. I mean- it is called white”marsh” for a reason:)
Infrastructure is important to every town or it all crumbles in real time
The Township should do a better job to be more transparent regarding everything.
Taxes — Nobody wants higher taxes, especially in a down economy affected by COVID. Municipal services and infrastructure improvements need to be funded however and costs are only going up. Whether or not taxes are raised figures into my first two listed issues (transparency and infrastructure).
I don’t have to commute through Conshohocken and I’m very glad. Whitemarsh traffic is horrible too.
Continued tying up of roads at inopportune moments in the AM due to the replacing of old piping and gas mains. Those projects should not be permitted until after 9am and be completed by no later than 3 to allow vehicles like school buses and other commercial deliveries to take place without being detoured throughout the borough neighborhoods let alone to allow school children to safely board and unboard at the proper stops without putting those children at risk or injuries or something worse due to the poor scheduling by the contractors and Borough of Conshohocken
What transparency? There is none.
No
Our roads date to Colonial times–we must consider that when considering zoning.
Conshohocken is an old steel town going through a boom. I want to see the new businesses fund infrastructure updates. We all have limited resources, we have to optimize them and make sure we are one of Pennsylvania’s examples of how smart planning can controlled growth and provide benefits to the Borough’s residents.
Always interested in making sure any tax increase is being done for the good of the community.
I’m also here because low taxes. I would like it to stay that way.
Time for a change!
Transparency has definitely improved, but more improvement is still needed to get the information out sooner and in a more accessible way to all residents; but, I am very grateful for what we are receiving now that we did not have access to a year ago. The biggest problem is the minutes of meetings which are basically a synopsis of what the staff member who records the minutes decides to provide; often appears as what is provided is in the best interests of the developer not actually what the speaker stated.
I feel as though constituent concerns are overlooked and not really addressed. We have little pockets, so we can’t dig deep to get things addressed, we rely on all of you as our voices! I already experienced being ignored at a recorded Borough meeting, so no faith in attending anymore. Waste of my breath and time!
I am new to Conshy and really enjoy it here. However, with the increase in construction (which I think overall is great), I would hate to see the overflow of new apartments and buildings create a strain on street parking. I’ve been in similar situations in other areas and parking is a nightmare. Is there a plan to even out availability with the increase in housing coming up?
Be open and accountable as to how tax dollars are being spent
West Conshohocken has no sidewalks above the police station
Infrastructure needs to be safe and modernized to keep up with the growing population and businesses.
Better attention to wildlife concerns (I.e. rabies)
Unbiased transparency across all levels is necessary!
I think Conshohocken has done an amazing job in last few years improving the parks. I love seeing young children and family’s enjoying them. I hope to see more walking paths, parks and less high rises building.
No gun range on Collwell Ave.
Cover ups have gone on for years. Only one councilman ever ethically does not vote and he is retiring.
Prioritize sidewalks over car traffic period
See above.
If we are a bedroom community we need to zone and create a restaurant and activity area to entice people to spend an evening in W. Conshohacken. Not really sure if this is feasible but there is some land by river at Ballagomingo Rd.
I think the traffic congestion speaks for itself. Anyone who builds along the river should be required to build a second bridge.
Stop trying to “help” us — just let us live our lives
I would love to see more initiatives such as containers to dispose of glass and implement a ban on plastic bags
Parking needs to be considered in development/zoning.
Nothing will change
We get nothing for the taxes we pay
We shouldn’t see any tax raises or sell off any assets like the sewer system because of all the building going on.
I am tired of restaurant employees parking in all the spots in front of my house.
Taxes the increase in development allowed to keep the taxes at current levels but what about the schools
Need to have better traffic planning and less trucks. Also control of cars blocking route23 from Merion Hills exit by Wawa .
A real dog park along the river would be nice
Don’t want money wasted and want honestly in why things are done
As a taxpayer, I’ve lost much respect/trust for locally elected officials these last several years. And I know MANY others who have as well. Shameful that they don’t seem to care/aren’t doing anything to repair that trust.
I believe that local issues should be transparent and open for community discussion. I think everyone could always work to make this aspect of local government better.
The B.O.S. seems to need better communication with the citizens in regards to long term projects along with complete details about costs and design changes .
They need to keep taxes at a reasonable rate for the senior citizens.
Set the rules then play by them. Every project should not be a popularity showing by the neighbors. They get furious when others opine on what they want but they feel entitled to have strong influence over their neighbors property. Elected officials should not enable this.
Taxes are my money
Would love to see Fayette street bridge intersection improved in some way.
Have we considered speed cameras on fayette street to control the out of control drivers going 60 through our neighborhood?
Senior citizens are are left with fewer choices to control their lives. They want to stay in their homes! Don’t push them out with high taxes. To us it is life and death!
The local government has already done well installing new traffic lights with pedestrian friendly features. With new construction, we need to keep this emphasis on modern traffic and pedestrian solutions
Due to the infrastructure work currently being done in the borough there is talk our taxes could be raised or the sale of the sewer system in order to fund the work. I find it pretty amazing the borough doesn’t have the funds to cover these costs with the nonstop building. Where are the tax revenues from the new office and apartment complexes going? Is the council giving the owners of these new buildings tax breaks in order to persuade them to come here? If our taxes are raised someone is going to need to explain to the residence of this borough why!!
I welcome the continued development of local businesses and dining establishments. The old dealership property is an eye sore and needs to be resolved (No Wawa!). Trader Joe’s would be a good option, or another bar/restaurant.
I’d like to see prettier spaces in development
Don’t wait for emergencies to do needed infrastructure work. Plan ahead, gather funds, keep the capital fund solvent and ready.
Being environmentally conscious and enacting green policies
Less apartment complexes as renters do not pay property or school taxes
Covanta and other polluters have to be reigned in or moved from our area.
Some buildings look like they need to be condemned and there is no local ordinances to help turn over these types of establishments
The selling of the sewer system
Our roads and bridges cannot handle this build up. The small town feel from years ago is gone.
If construction starts continue at their current rate our infrastructure will collapse! When is enough enough???
Worried that there used to be so many things to do in Conshohocken (beer gardens, etc) in addition to the restaurants and the draw of events while on hold for covid still doesn’t seem to be a big focus to help make conchy a great place to live
Diversity of business.
Put a code of ethics in place for borough workers to be held accountable to. More information provided as early as it is available. Not waiting until the time it suits council
More development should mean no raising of taxes!
Shooting at a boweling alley?!?!! We need to know what is being done to keep city crimes out our our area.
Need to do more to halt climate change and hopefully reverse the negative impact that’s culminated over the past few years.
keep our taxes comfortable
More restaurants with entertainment
Major crime not an issue. But setting off major fireworks 4 months out of year is ridiculous. Having bars open during pandemic which were ordered shut down is illegal and dangerous. Plus not fair to other bars owners who followed rules. And what’s worse politicians looked the other way. Why should they get re-elected?
We all want to live in a safe community
The parking problem in Conshohocken just keeps getting worse. The borough can change the streets to diagonal parking from parallel parking but if you keep building multiple houses on a lot where one house use to be , keep building houses, townhouses and apartments in general with out adequate parking how can any thing improve. You don’t want this to be
Roxborough/Manayunk where you park two blocks from your house because that is the only spot available (not exaggerating). The traffic on: the Bridge, Fayette, Maple , Elm, Hector Washington streets – when all the building projects finally finish – what can I say except STOP BUILDING!!! What does the parking task force have as a solution to this problem? Why is Forrest Street between West 5th and 6th avenue permit only? The most cars parked back there on a daily bases are 3 to 4 cars.
This Borough spends way too much money on services we don’t want or need. For example, why is trash removal done two days a week? It should be reduced to one day a week for trash, recycling and foliage (leaves/branches/trimming, etc.) removal. Also some members on Council are extremely concerned about building another dog park. Why not expand and improve parks for the PEOPLE who live in our town and who pay the high taxes to keep it running?
Plymouth township has the best services for our tax money. Keep it that way.
A possible walking bridge from art 23 to Conshohocken restaurant area

Feel free to address something you feel the survey didn’t cover, or anything else you would like to share.
The so called river community is nonexistent
Conshohocken is getting new pipes. When will surrounding townships step up and do the same to provide better water to their community. Should also do a water test.
One idea I shared with my ward 3 rep (no response) is to convert parts of Elm and/or Hector to cobblestone. This would improve traffic safety (hard to speed on cobble), and add unique charm to the oldest, most dense parts of the town. It would also improve storm drainage and reduce road maintenance costs. Proposed sections would be between ash and cherry.
Sewer costs have tripled
Although the Covanta plant is not in Conshohocken, it severely effects the air quality in Conshohocken. The company does not operate safely and this is a big concern.
Local council seems to be very silent for the last 6 months or so. Only one has been posting on social media recently and that is only reposting what the township has posted.
Open the Wawa! Let it generate tax income!
Public Safety and the influx of residents in BOTH Boroughs. Are the public safety assets we have sufficient? NO! Conshohocken is hiring part time fire fighters. West Conshohocken has 1 full time paid driver and two weekend part time drivers. West Conshohocken needs to address the dwindling number of volunteer firefighters in the Borough. They need to hire part time / full time fire fighters. West Conshohocken needs to fund their LOSAP and officially approve the program. They need a full time fire marshal. Currently, code enforcement in West Conshohcken is sub par and under managed by part time employees. I honestly hope we can vote out all of West Conshohcken’s council and start from scratch. A lot needs to change.
We still want a Wawa or a grocery store in Conshohocken
Wasteful spending on equipment that does not need to be replaced because the Fire Departments are swindled by a slimy sales man.
If you are worried about road repave cost why dont you coordinate with Aqua and Peco when replacing the sewer instead of selling it off…. sounds like someone is being lazy
The thought of dealing with another election makes me ill. Two years ago the hate and mean comments were awful. Yes, at our local level. Mr. Salus is someone to avoid if possible.
I’m upset about the sale of sewer plant
Do not sell the sewer system.
Snow removal was not great a previous years.
It would be helpful to better understand the economic benefits of continued development. How much revenue per sq.ft. do businesses provide vs. residential? Provide us with easy to understand benefits we are achieving from continued development. Fully disclose any tax abatement given to new businesses. Transparency will go a long way.
The Township is riddled with obvious code violations, ie cars parked on lawns, overgrown shrubs at stop signs blocking view of oncoming traffic and dilapidated homes and structures. Codes personnel should act on these properties when they see them.
Traffic is also an important issue to me and goes hand-in-hand with responsible development and infrastructure.
Term limits for ALL political positions from local to POTUS
Sewer bill is a priority as well
Build the Wawa already

Tax relief for senors what a novel idea. All the new tax revenue should permit this.
One candidate includes multiple instances of obtaining lesser sentences on child pornography as a “success” on their website. This is bothersome.
Get Jason Salus and his puppets off of every committee. Crooked politicians are the worse.
We need to have concern over the school taxes and our elected officials that have been elected to the school board.
Education!!!!
Montgomery County should stop controlling and politically engineering municipal governments. Advocate for strong local leadership that represents the desires of the constituency without the County influence
Einstein defined insanity as, “…doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results.” Residents in Conshohocken who are concerned about the direction of the Borough need to give serious thought toward electing Council members and a Mayor who aren’t Democrats. Single-party rule is not good for the Borough and will only have us continue on our present trajectory. When making a decision at the polls, consider a counter-balance — forget about the insanity of national politics (R vs D) and take a chance on electing candidates from another party in order to spur dissenting opinion as well as to highlight matters that might not otherwise get appropriate attention under single-party rule. Most of the time, decisions made by local government have a much greater impact on residents’ day-to-day lives than anything being decided in Washington, D.C.
I think the mayor of Conshohocken is great.
We need a website that details each candidate and what their views are.
People need to stop parking their cars in the middle of streets, blocking the street, in order to run in and grab pizza. There are always parking spots nearby. People need to stop being lazy, or receive parking tickets.
Drivable Avenues
How do I go about running for mayor?
long-term financial planning for the Borough
I found it difficult to prioritize and only pick 3. Many of these issues hold equal importance. Also there are other important elections that were not mentioned, specifically magisterial judge which is for Plymouth Township and west side of Conshohocken.
Eliminate covanta from our skyline.
Schools; curriculum and students being back in school full time
Trash on the Main Street has been increasing over the last years. Especially between 1st Ave and 3rd Ave. I realize it’s difficult to keep up with it all, but when the trash bins on the Main Street are emptied can’t loss trash be picked up at the same time. It would make the Main Street looking beautiful. I would hate to see it become gross the City is.
I’d like a Trader Joe’s in Conshohocken.
Food dessert, there is not enough walkable food locations, we should grant funds for a mini market in town, e.g. https://www.lemonstreetmarket.com/
Brook Road connecting Conshy to Plymouth needs attention! The road is dangerous and is littered with garbage. I’d love to enter the bike trail there, but it’s too risky.
Open the schools!
NO SALE OF THE SEWER SYSTEM
Restaurant guests double park everywhere and never get tickets.
Bridge traffic is a mess
Would like to have a boat house and entrance to river from area near train station and new apartments for recreation
The local infrastructure (community and school district) needs continual maintenance and improvement. Many projects have been initiated and seem to be improving over the past few years. I hope this continues.
Not related to Conshohocken government, but locally – the fact that Val Arkoosh has gotten a pass on her terrible handling of the pandemic (remember she is running the health dept) is ridiculous. She has taken/been given credit for anything that has gone well that were usually due to others (ie National Guard/Federal response) and then anything that hasn’t they blame on others. It’s as if they had no idea there was a vaccine coming. They had a year to plan distribution. They want to blame it on there not being enough but they have them, they just don’t know how to identify who should get it first/next and give it to them.
Conshohocken is quickly losing it’s small town appeal, and becoming unaffordable and inaccessible.
Least important: taxes. Nothing is free. As long as local government is acting responsibly, the cost is the cost.
Pushing state government towards marijuana legalization
Residents should have a vote on removing statues, memorials & renaming
The traffic intersection at Fayette and Elm has got to be the worst timed intersection around. The 35 second 4 way pedestrian cross is fine for safety but the timing is atrocious and builds long queues to get across the bridge
Do not sell our sewer! Stop approving so many new condos and developments
Please do not over develop our “Quaint” little borough of Conshohocken. It would be nice to keep the small town feel for the next generation of Conshyites!
My officials rating excludes the Mayor. He gets an 8!
How to combat conspiracy theories?
Plan for long term to maintain and avoid short term solutions that put Comshy at risk in the future. Short term execution that achieves long term objectives
O would love to have an honest review/interview with all candidates and they should do zoom debates.
with talks of closing ridge pike from Belvoir to school lane, I want to address putting speed bumps on school lane while project is under way , speeding is a issue on this street on a normal day.. its a speed lane short cut to as is
Get children in school full time
Do not understand why so many new apartment complexes. Conshohocken clearly needs single family housing. People want to stay here and raise families. And the Post Office is dreadful. Looks like something from 1950s.
Start thinking big and bold. This town is attracting major dollars yet doesn’t reflect it. Maybe you need different council people with strong imaginative ideas and skills. TIME for borough to look like 2021.
We would like our representatives to remember that they work for the people not for their party
You asked me to rate the above issues as 1,2,and 3. But I would like to rate all of my concerns as NUMBER ONES. They are all important to me equally. As for all the other categories crime, environment, quality of life, infrastructure, transparency – they are all important too. These are the qualities that make people want to live in Conshohocken.

Oh! I don’t think we have transparency in the borough administration do you?

I think that the Sewer Authority sale should be voted on by all the people of Conshohocken since it effects all of us.

As for our streets the borough use to fix an avenue or two each summer back years ago. If I remember it was by grants from state/county. Now instead of fixing our infrastructures with grant money we give grant money to companies who make millions of dollars in profit a year to move here or erect a building ( something wrong with this picture)..

Thank you for your time.
Our area needs major infrastructure enhancements that would include the building of a bridge over the Schuylkill River. A perfect location would be near the Steel Plant on the Conshohocken side and the Smith-Kline Pharmaceutical Plant on the Swedeland side. Local officials need to aggressively obtain both State and Federal funds for such a project. And one other thing: We don’t need anymore traffic studies. We absolutely know what is needed: major infrastructure enhancements including that new traffic diverting bridge!
Plymouth township is the Doormat to the Philadelphia and Montgomery county area. There needs to be a turnpike EZ pass exit at rt.202 + 476 tpk. this will take a bunch of traffic off our roads, that HAS to go thru here to get to the turnpike. There should be a bridge in West Conchy. at rt. 320 (near Inquirer) and cross the river to Alan wood rd. it would help the Conchy. and Norristown traffic. There should be a road from rt. 422 to rt.476 avoiding the already over crouded Schuylkill expressway, between KOP and Conchy. The rt 476 should be widened to 3 lanes the whole length. Each of these items would help relieve the traffic frustration in the area. Put our road taxes to work on roads, not to be a piggy bank for other uses. The funneling of road tax elsewhere is why things are so neglected in this part of the county and state.
