Swedesburg Volunteer Fire Company has announced that River Road has been closed due to a fire at the intersection of River Road and East 4th Street in Conshohocken (Upper Merion Township). This is on the West Conshohocken side of the Schuylkill River on the outskirts of the Conshohocken zipcode.

Based on the photo, the fire is at or very close to the Republic Services River Road Transfer Station. The fire began sometime just before 2:30 p.m.

Upper Merion Township Fire & EMS also announced the closure and added that it is expected to last beyond the afternoon rush hour.
