Saint Patrick’s Day Parade set for March 14th in Conshohocken. Jimmy Gallagher named Grand Marshal

On November 19th, Conshohocken’s borough council voted to permit the Montgomery County Saint Patrick’s Parade Committee to hold the 2026 edition of its annual Saint Patrick’s Day Parade along Fayette Street in Conshohocken on March 14th (with a rain date of March 21st). The parade starts at 2:00 p.m.

This year marks the 20th anniversary of the parade in Conshohocken. It was moved from Norristown to Conshohocken in 2026. To tie into the nation’s 250th anniversary in 2026, the theme of this year’s parade is “God Bless America and the Irish That Built Her.”

The committee also recently named Jimmy Gallagher the grand marshal of the parade. The Bridgeport-native has been chairman of the parade since 2008. Gallagher has served the community as a Norristown police officer for 20 years, earning the rank of lieutenant. He currently serves as the Magisterial District Court Judge for Bridgeport and Upper Merion Township. He is set to retire from this position at the end of 2025 and move to Florida.

Gallagher became a volunteer firefighter at 16 when he joined his father at the Goodwill Fire Company in Bridgeport. Since then, he has held leadership roles in several departments, including Chief of the King of Prussia Fire Company from 2014 to 2024. He is a life member of the Goodwill, Fairmount, and King of Prussia Volunteer Fire Companies. He also served as an instructor at the Montgomery County and Pennsylvania State Fire Academies, training and mentoring generations of firefighters.

Gallagher is married to his wife Karen, and they have four children, Matt, David, Diana, and AJ. He coached youth baseball during and after Matt and David’s time on the field.

He is a member of the Bridgeport Elks Lodge 714, AOH Notre Dame Division 1 in Swedesburg, and the Fraternal Order of Police Lodge No.31.
