Seven Plymouth Whitemarsh High School seniors have joined 6,000 students nationally to be recognized as semifinalists in the 70th annual National Merit Scholarship Program. The seven students are Myles Kaye, Ronnie Keene, Dhruv Patel, Akhil Roy, Noah Smith, Andrew Szperka, and Koseli Thakali.
Semifinalists represent less than one percent of U.S. high school seniors and are the highest-scoring students in each state based on scores from the 2023 Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test (PSAT/NMSQT).
All seven students can apply to become Finalists in the National Merit Scholarship Program. To become Finalists, students must submit a detailed scholarship application that includes information about their academic record, participation in school and community activities, leadership abilities, employment, and awards and honors received.
