Sewer rate hike on agenda for Plymouth Township’s Council

On the December 4th agenda for Plymouth Township’s council is a proposed ordinance that will raise sewer rates for those with metered accounts on the Conshohocken Area and Plymouth Area sewer districts. The ordinance will not be voted on during this meeting. You can read the proposed ordinance here.

Below is a breakdown of the current and proposed rates.

Sewage collection charge (applicable to all quantities of water consumed):

Current – First 7,000 gallons or less per quarter, minimum: $24.46.
Proposed Change – $26.66 (or plus $2.20)
Current – All over 7,000 gallons per quarter, per 1,000 gallons per quarter: $1.68.
Proposed Change – $ 1.83 (or plus $0.15)

Sewage treatment charge (applicable to all quantities of water consumed):

Current – First 7,000 gallons or less per quarter, minimum: $30.80.
Proposed Change – $33.57 (or plus $2.77)
All over 7,000 gallons per quarter, per 1,000 gallons per quarter: $2.17.
Proposed Change – 2.37 (or plus $0.20)

Rates for nonmetered water users:

Current – Sewage collection charge: $37.43 per quarter.
Proposed – $37.43 per quarter (no change)
Sewage treatment charge: $47.07 per quarter.
Proposed – $47.07 (no change)

The December 4th meeting will be held at 7:00 p.m. at the Greater Plymouth Community Center.
