Show your love of Conshohocken history with a Lee Tire t-shirt

Show your love for Conshohocken’s history with a Lee Tire t-shirt. Lee Tire was located at what is now the Spring Mill Creative Campus at the intersection of East Hector Street and North Lane.

The tire company was one of the major players behind Conshohocken’s industrial heyday. From the Conshohocken Historical Society website:

J. Elwood Lee moved his surgical supply business from his East Seventh Avenue home to a building at Eighth and Harry Street. In 1896, the factory was enlarged and in 1910 the company moved to its new plant at Spring Mill. The company also added the manufacture of auto tires to its products and changed its name to Lee Tires. In 1966, Lee Tires became a subsidiary of Goodyear Tire and Rubber Company and closed in 1978. The Lee Tire Plant at Spring Mill was placed on the National Register of Historic Places in Montgomery County in 1984.
