If you aren’t familiar, The Biscuit Lady was opened in the Roxborough section of Philadelphia this past October by Plymouth Meeting resident Tara Torrence. The menu features buttery homemade biscuits that are baked fresh every morning, along with other items like breakfast sandwiches (on biscuits of course) and Holy Biscuits, which is Torrence’s version of a donut. To create the Holy Biscuits, Torrence fries buttermilk biscuits and adds a variety of toppings. There are also house-made jams.

In Roxborough, the business shares space with Lucky’s Trading Co. at 5154 Ridge Avenue. For the second location, Torrence sought a bigger space that would allow her to expand the menu and be open for longer hours. In Plymouth Meeting she plans to add a fried chicken sandwich (on a biscuit) and more beverage options such as espresso, lattes, coffee, and juice.

The Plymouth Meeting location also will offer more space for people to enjoy their biscuits at the restaurant with indoor and outdoor seating. She describes it as a breakfast restaurant or “spot” with specialty biscuits. The initial hours will be Tuesday through Sunday from 7:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.

Torrence expects to open in Plymouth Meeting in October.
