The Mary Knowles Technology Fund was established by the Friends of the William Jeanes Memorial Library in honor of Mary Knowles, a former beloved library director. The check is presented each October. In response to requests from the Library, the Friends increased this gift in 2014 from $3,000 to $5,000; in 2016 to $5,500; in 2017 to $6,500 and $5,000 in 2018 and 2019.
The library used monies from the Mary Knowles Technology Fund for these updates in 2020:

- Zoombean, Inc. first year license
- Cash registers for Square credit card readers
- Phone Tripod
- Cables and splitters
- Accessories for credit card machines
- Virtual Trivia Events
- Hardware for Square cash registers

- Zoom for various programs
- Touch-screen monitor for self-check
- Hard cases for circulating hotspots
