Tombstones and more defaced with swastikas in Conshohocken

This morning it was discovered that tombstones and more were defaced with swastikas and other racial epitaphs at the Old Saint Matthew’s Cemetery along the 1200 block of Butler Pike and Saint Matthew’s Cemetery at the corner of North Lane and Butler Pike. Both cemeteries are located within the Conshohocken section of Whitemarsh Township.

In a statement, the Whitemarsh Township Police Department wrote that its officers responded to reports of vandalism on Thursday, February 24th at approximately 7:00 a.m. The statement also shared that the Plymouth Township Police Department is investigating a similar incident at a cemetery as well. Readers tell us this is Saint Benedict’s Cemetery off Colwell Lane in Conshohocken (Plymouth Township).
