Last night MoreThanTheCurve.com offered a brief article on hazardous conditions reported along Chemical Road in Plymouth Meeting. We asked PennDOT for an update this morning and below is the statement we received:

Last night police contacted our Montgomery County Maintenance Unit about further subsidence [downward settling or sinking] on Chemical Road at the same general location as our recent repair. This can happen during/after rain events in an active sinkhole area. Same as last time, the I-476 NB offramp and the two right lanes of Chemical Road EB are closed. We will update our online traffic bulletin when the restriction has been lifted.

The recent repairs mention date back to the beginning of March 2021.
