Update on Balligomingo Road

Work has begun on fixing the issue that has kept Balligomingo Road in West Conshohocken closed since 2015. A steep slope along the road would result in debris and mud covering the road after storms.

We visited the site (the top of the hill overlooking Balligomingo Road) today and looking down the slope is pretty scary.

We asked PennDOT for an update and here is what we received:

The contractor started work a couple weeks ago.  Right now, there are some existing drainage channels running from the top of the slope to Balligomingo Road that are being restored and strengthened.  Materials are currently being fabricated (steel piles & concrete lagging) for construction of new retaining wall.  As soon as those materials are fabricated, the contractor will begin drilling the caissons and setting the piles.

Repairs are expected to be completed in 2019.

More to come.
