This is an update on the fire on IKEA’s roof on Friday, August 24th.
A Facebook post by the Plymouth Fire Company states that firefighters successfully “contained the fire to the solar array on the roof and the facade of the building with minor smoke and water extension into the interior of the store.”
CBS3 reports that “fire officials” have stated that the fire at IKEA involved a solar panel on the roof. If you watch the video from CBS3 below, you can see the roof is covered in solar panels.
IKEA has posted on social media that the Conshohocken store will be closed through Saturday, August 25th.
UPDATE: IKEA Conshohocken will remain closed on Saturday, August 25th. Customers can find updates on when the store will reopen on the IKEA Facebook page and @IKEAUSA Twitter handle.
