As was widely reported this week, Cleveland-Cliffs has decided to sell the steel plant it owns at 900 Conshohocken Road in Conshohocken (Plymouth Township). In May, the company announced it was idling the plant, which began producing steel as the Alan Wood Steel Company in 1832.
Binswanger is representing Cleveland-Cliffs in the sale. It has created a website, 900ConshohockenRoad.com, to market the property. From the website:
“Binswanger is pleased to present an exclusive 66-acre site offering an unparalleled opportunity to control one of the largest and most strategically located industrial redevelopment parcels in the Greater Philadelphia region. Situated just outside Conshohocken Borough, in the heart of the King of Prussia–Plymouth Meeting–Conshohocken market, this site offers a unique combination of scale, access, and infrastructure that simply cannot be replicated in today’s land-constrained environment. The property features direct rail service, a dedicated on-site electrical substation, access to the adjacent Schuylkill River, and an on-site water treatment facility—making it ideally suited for logistics, advanced manufacturing, life sciences, or large-scale mixed-use development.”
The website provides a lot of detail about the plant and the property. In addition, you can find the history of the Alan Wood Steel company here.
