During the August 13th meeting of Whitemarsh Township’s board of supervisors, there was a presentation made by the Delaware Valley Wildlife Management proposing to add three additional township-owned parcels to the existing deer cull program. The program, which allows archers to hunt deer from set locations, was launched in 2024.
The area has seen an increase in the deer population, and adult deer have no natural predators in Whitemarsh and neighboring communities. The archers focus on does.

In addition to the existing location in the Miquon section of the township, the three additional locations are:
- Off Thomas Road in the area of the Whitemarsh Township Authority
- An area referred to Kline Lower that is off Cedar Grove
- The Hamilton Drive Tract adjacent to Union League Liberty Hill
A few members of the public asked for clarification on the properties and boundaries involved. There was also a discussion about how the animals are harvested for meat and that a portion goes to food banks.
The supervisors voted unanimously to approve the program’s expansion, 4 to 0, with one member, Vincent Manuele, absent.
