Who went to an Eagle’s Eye warehouse sale in Conshohocken in the 1980s?

Eagle’s Eye was a clothing company that operated in the late 1970s and through the late 1980s. For at least a good chunk of that time made its home out of what is now the David’s Bridal building at 1001 Washington Street in Conshohocken (Whitemarsh Township). We found the below 1983 commercial for a warehouse sale held by Eagle’s Eye on YouTube.com and thought we would share because it is likely that some of you went to the sale.

Not familiar with Eagle’s Eye, here is a description we found for it online:

Fueling the preppy craze, Eagle’s Eye designed and sold women’s, men’s and children’s sweaters adorned with embroidered motifs. Over the next decade, Eagle’s Eye expanded to national distribution, including more than 50 of the brand’s own retail stores. Eagle’s Eye was acquired by Swire Group for $60 million.

Interesting tidbit about Eagle’s Eye, it was co-founded by Christopher Burch, who later went on to launch the brand Tory Burch in the 2000s with his then wife.

While the Eagle’s Eye headquarters were on Washington Street, we believe the actual warehouse was down near the Miquon Train Station at 1000 River Road (but we could be wrong).

Let us know in the comments if you ever went to one of the sales.
