Work on Three Fayette Street Intersections Continues Next Week

PennDOT has announced that there will be lane restrictions in place next week on Fayette Street at the intersections with 3rd Avenue, 9th Avenue, and 11th Avenue. The restrictions will be in place from Monday, August 5th through Friday, August 9th, from 7:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. for traffic signal and ADA curb ramp installation.

From the announcement:

As part of this project, crews are working to improve safety and traffic flow at 10 intersections along Fayette Street between Elm Street and 11th Avenue. The scope of work includes installing new signal controllers, mast arms, video detection, emergency pre-emption equipment, pedestrian signal heads, and push buttons; and building ADA curb ramps. The improvements will improve the efficiency of the signal operation, and maximize the green time allocation for each signal phase based upon actual traffic demand.
