Conshohocken’s Borough Council to Consider 2018 Tax Ordinance on December 20th

Conshohocken’s Borough Council will consider for enactment and vote on the calendar year 2018 Tax Ordinance at its meeting on Wednesday, December 20th at 7:00 p.m. The meeting will be held at Borough Hall located at 400 Fayette Street. The calendar year 2018 proposed tax ordinance holds taxes at the same property tax rate as 2017. The rates, as detailed in the proposed ordinance, are:

A. The tax rate for general Borough purposes including recreation shall be and the same is herby fixed at 2.9984 mills on each dollar of assessed valuation.
B. The tax rate to pay the cost of street lighting shall be the same is hereby fixed at .2926 mills on each dollar of assessed valuation.
C. The tax rate to establish, maintain and/or aid in the maintaining of the Conshohocken Free Library as a local library shall be and the same is hereby fixed at .0836 mills upon each dollar of assessed valuation, and the money raised by said levy shall be and is hereby appropriated to establish, maintain and/or aid in the maintaining of the Conshohocken Free Library.
D. The tax rate to assist any fire company in the Borough in the purchase, removal or repair of its fire engines, fire apparatus or fire hose, the purchase of land upon which to erect a firehouse or firehouses, the employment of career firefighters, or for general operations, shall be and the same is hereby fixed at .1254 mills on each dollar
of assessed valuation and the money raised by said levy shall be and is hereby appropriated for the aforesaid purposes of accordance with Section 1302(6) of the Borough Code.
E. Total Real Estate Tax rate for the Borough general purposes and specific purposes outlined, including fire company assistance, street lighting and library expenses, shall be and is the sum of 3.5 mills on each dollar of assessed valuation.
