Conshy Celebrity – Mike Monsell

How did you come to live and/or work in Conshohocken?
I work in Philadelphia, and we were looking for a suburban setting to live and raise our kids. Conshohocken is a perfect commute to my office on City Ave., and it’s a thriving area. It has good schools, cultural opportunities, and you can’t beat living two miles from Ikea.

What do you do (career wise)?
I am the Vice President and Director of Creative Services for 6abc / WPVI . My team does the advertising for the television station. My job is to get people to watch 6abc more, and use 6abc.com more. In fact, you can help by liking our Facebook page.  Thanks!

What are you involved in outside of work?
Most of my free time involves my boys’ youth sports. I coach as much as my schedule allows. I also love to golf, camp, and fish. I still haven’t caught a trout since moving to this area. If anyone wants to divulge a kid-friendly trout hole, I’d appreciate it.

What do you love most about Conshohocken?
I love the proximity Conshohocken has to everything. I feel like we’re 10 minutes away from just about anything. And we’ve made a lot of good friends living here. We’ve only been here seven years, but it’s definitely home.

What are your favorite places in Conshohocken?
I love Thai food, so Chiangmai is a favorite restaurant of mine. Tee’s is a cool spot, especially since my boys are now old enough to smack the ball around. We also spend a lot of time over at Colwell Park.
