East Elm Street in Conshohocken use to be known for the abundance of fitness-related businesses, however, it now looks like it is going to the dogs.

On June 25th, Out of the Crate opened at 701 East Elm Street. The business is an on-site doggy daycare that also offers in-home services such as dog walking, vacation visits, etc.

It may soon have some competition. On the February 3rd agenda for the Whitemarsh Township’s Zoning Hearing Board is an application connected to a doggy daycare business that would make its home at 723 East Elm Street, just a few doors down from Out of the Crate.

According to the zoning notice, the proposal involves renovating the existing warehouse for the business, but zoning relief connected to parking requirements is needed to move forward.
