We reported a few weeks ago that past mayoral candidate Marty Eckert had announced on Facebook his intent to run in the Democratic Party’s primary for Mayor.  Eckert received his party’s nod in 2009 and lost by one vote to Robert Frost (R).

On his Facebook page, Eckert expressed that he did not want to run in a primary and felt he did not have his party’s backing.  With Eckert withdrawing his name, this leaves Donald Morrison as the only announced candidate in the Democratic Party field.  While answering people who made comments on his Facebook post, Eckert suggests there is someone else that has expressed an interest in running.

The primary will be held in May and the general election in November.
