Social Growth and Community Connections is a vibrant community hub in Montgomery County where adults over 18 with disabilities can spark friendships, learn, and have a blast! Led by the dynamic duo Meg Jermain and Kerry Byrnes, experts in special education and speech pathology- you quickly learn this isn't your average meetup group – it's an adventure in social learning!
Imagine the fun of diving into the local scene with experiences such as dining, guided arts nights, and throwing strikes at the bowling alley with NEW friends.
Every event is carefully curated to nurture independence, self-advocacy, and those all-important executive functioning skills. Whether you're brushing up on dining etiquette while crafting your own pizzas or sharpening your job interview game at mock interview night, SGCC has something for everyone. With events scattered throughout the week, there's always an opportunity to connect.

Why: With over 30+ years of combined Special Education, Meg and Kerry have gained valuable insights on how to motivate and inspire growth in with their students. Due to a special bond with their students, they have kept in touch with many former students. Witnessing a regression of their students' independent living skills and social abilities, SGCC was born out of passion to correct the lack of support to this community, post secondary education.
