Mod India Restaurant recently opened at 474 Germantown Pike in Lafayette Hill (Whitemarsh Township), which is the former home of Whitemarsh Valley Inn. This is Mod’s second location. It opened its original spot in Glen Mills in 2020.

Mod is owned and operated by Sudha Joshi of Chadds Ford. She jumped into the restaurant business after almost 20 years in the corporate world.

Mod marks the fifth Indian restaurant to open in the immediate area, with four opening in just the past two years. Nirvana Indian Bistro opened in Conshohocken in 2013 and then moved to Lafayette Hill in 2015. In 2024, New Era Indian Cuisine opened in Plymouth Meeting, and Lassan Indian Traditional opened in Lafayette Hill. Masala Symphony opened in Conshohocken in 2025.
