The Conshy Kids Consignment Sale to benefit the Conshohocken Elementary School will be held on Saturday, April 24th from 8:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at the Fellowship House. If you are interested in being a cosignor click here or email ceptoconsign@yahoo.com. They also have a Facebook page.
An Oldies Night to benefit the Conshy Fireworks will be held on April 24th at the TK Club. Spinning the oldies will be Sam Lit.
A “Bachelor Auction” is being held on Saturday, April 24th at Guppy’s Good Times. Bachelors include (left to right) Brian and Butch from the StoneRose Whilemina model Anthony Romeo, Jim from Guppy’s and Marc from 610 WIP. The event benefits Janie Carbo. Full details here.
On Thursday, May 6th Gypsy Saloon will team up with Philadelphia’s own, Yards Brewing Company for a four-course beer dinner. The cost is $55 per person (plus tax & gratuity) with open seating. Menu pairings include mussels in Brawler beer, scallops with Saison saffron cream sauce and IPA marinated hanger steak. Yards Brewing Company will be on hand to talk with guests and answer any questions. Call 610.828.8494 for reservations.

It has been mentioned on this website before that the owner of Cafe Zesty was going to open a restaurant at 3rd and Elm (where the sign with the saxaphone hangs). Various sources have told me that this is no longer the case and the building owner has secured a tenant that s going to open a Tapas style restaurant.
I have never spoken to the people behind 8 East, but several well informed people have told me that an opening is getting closer. Yes I realize this contradicts what I was told in previous weeks.
Conshohocken’s Genuradi’s hosted the regional bagging competition for the chain on Monday. The winner moves to the state final in Harrisburg. Representing the store locally was Johnathon Burton, who works at the Conshohocken Genuardi’s.

The Colonial Foundation for Educational Innovation(CFEI) – a Pennsylvania-registered 501 (c) (3) educational improvement organizaton — is ready to accept your ideas for local school grant consideration. Anyone in the municipalities of Plymouth, Whitemarsh and Conshohocken can write and submit a grant request proposal including students, teachers, community members, a collaboration, etc. for an innovative school program or initiative. The Pre-Approval Form is due by May 6, 2010. Your completed grant paperwork is due by May 13, 2010 for merit-based selection by the CFEI Board of Trustees.
