Owner of Martin Luther School in Plymouth Meeting granted zoning relief to expand campus to Butler Pike property

Gemma Services recently sought and received zoning relief to operate a private school at 5168 and 5200 Butler Pike in Plymouth Meeting (Whitemarsh Township). The property is being sold by ECRI, which utilizes the two properties for an office building and parking.

Gemma Services owns and operates the Martin Luther School at 512 Township Line Road in Plymouth Meeting (Plymouth Township). The school has approximately 225 students ranging from kindergarten to 12th grade.

Gemma Services isn’t just a school. It provides individualized services for those experiencing difficulties, including emotional and behavioral challenges. Some students live on the Martin Luther School campus and there are other students who live on the campus, but attend public school.

We spoke to a school representative, and the plan is to move the school to the Butler Pike property. The current campus off Township Line Road would continue to operate and provide services. The students who live at the school would continue to live at the Township Line campus. There are two residential buildings at the Butler Pike property, but no students will live there.
