Request for text amendment to allow apartments at Plymouth Meeting Mall on August 2nd agenda for Plymouth’s Council

On the agenda for the August 2nd meeting of Plymouth Township’s Council is the text amendment request from Keystone Property Group to convert the existing office building adjacent to the Plymouth Meeting Mall into 150 apartments. The building is currently vacant.

You can find MoreThanTheCurve.com’s previous coverage on this proposal here.

Tonight is a workshop meeting, not a formal voting meeting, thus what will likely happen is the council will receive an update from the township staff on the proposed text amendment. During a June meeting, Keystone Property Group agreed to work with township staff to develop the language for the amendment.

Councilmembers, over the several years MoreThanTheCurve.com has covered various proposals, haven’t been enthusiastic about apartments, or even a hotel, at the mall. Tonight may be the first opportunity to gauge the current council’s opinion on this proposal.

The meeting starts at 6:00 p.m. and is in-person in the auditorium at the township building.
