Saint Philip Neri Parish in Lafayette Hill celebrated its 75th anniversary on September 12th

Yesterday, the Catholic Historical Research Center of the Archdiocese of Philadelphia tweeted about the history of Saint Philip Neri Parish in Lafayette Hill.

According to the tweet, the history of the parish started in 1921 when it was a mission of Saint Matthew Parish in Conshohocken and it used a parishioner’s home for services. The parish was formally founded on September 12, 1945, and a church was built in 1947. The church that is used today was dedicated in 1982.

That makes yesterday the parish’s 75th anniversary.
