Spring Mill Fire Company hosting Community Carnival September 14-17

To kick off a season of celebrating Spring Mill Fire Company’s 100th Year Anniversary, the fire company is teaming up with “Tons of Fun Shows” to host the Community Carnival; a nostalgic celebration of the past and present, from September 14 through September 17.

Fun for the Entire Family

The carnival includes classic and exciting rides, delicious food and beverages, nostalgic games and a whirlwind of fun. Children’s laughter and the sweet smells of funnel cake and popcorn fill the air. This is just part of what residents will experience at Spring Mill’s Community Carnival, Thursday, September 14 through Sunday, September 17.

The festivities run from 6-10 p.m. on Thursday and Friday night, 4-10 p.m. on Saturday and 1-5 p.m. on Sunday at the Spring Mill Fire Company grounds, 1210 E Hector St, Conshohocken, PA 19428.

Spring Mill Fire Company invites everyone in the community to celebrate its rich history by coming together to relive cherished historical memories and create new ones that will last a lifetime.

“The carnival is a way for us to celebrate this accomplishment with our community,” said Spring Mill Fire Company Chief Wayne Masters. “It’s a homage to a century of service, the deep roots we have grounded in our township for generations, and the firefighters who selflessly serve our residents.”

A long-time tradition, the first carnival was held in 1923 when the fire company first formed. Traditionally it was a way to raise money. This year the focus is to celebrate the past and present with the community.

1923: An Idea Yields a Fire Company

A dozen local residents came together to discuss the organization of a volunteer fire company. Officers were elected and Spring Mill Fire Company became official. One year later, the community celebrated the official housing of Spring Mill Fire Company. The acquisition of its first siren and fire truck followed. Earliest annual records showed that Spring Mill responded to 17 fires.
